One of the greatest decisions a person makes is selecting their career- the activity they will fill most of their days with, what they will offer to their community, and what will ultimately shape how the people around them view their skillset. It defines your schedule (to a point) and it creates a day to day purpose in a greater community.
Your career choice is a big decision, thus, it is important that as you begin the journey of selecting your job of choice, that you give it the time, consideration, and thoughtfulness that it deserves. Many struggle with making this decision- they may hesitate in selecting just one career, they may refuse to accept what their talents are, or they may fear the possibility of not being successful in what they are passionate about.
Then there is the issue of taking on someone else's career simply because you have seen their success. You may try on their career only to find out that you are not being true to the talents/passions given to you. You struggle at excelling at the career you have chosen because it doesn't fit YOU. YOU are no where to be found in someone else's career path.
Today, I am here to encourage you to take some time. Sit down with pencil and pen, and begin to brainstorm what it is you love to do. What are you passionate about? What is your purpose? What do you have to offer to your community and what brings you joy? You can also ask friends and family what they think your strengths may be. However, ultimately, your career is yours and thus only YOU can determine what career path is really, truly, fitting to you.
After you have pinpointed your "career purpose", then the necessary steps begin to fall into place. If you need help in this process, I would love to connect!
