One of my all-time favorite summer cocktails is my very simple traditional margarita! It is so refreshing and the perfect little drink for any social outing! With it being May 5 (Cinco de Mayo) and all, I thought it was the perfect time to share my little recipe!
Leave the limes out at room temperature and roll in between your hands (This helps the limes release more of their juice upon squeezing) and then cut in half. Place a small amount of sea salt in a pile on cutting board. Trace the rim of one glass with one of the limes in order for the juice to line the rim. Then turn the glass upside down over the sea salt. This will leave a salt rim on the glass. Next, squeeze all four lime halves into the glass, followed by the tequila and orange-flavoured liqueur. Stir generously. Serve over a couple ice cubes and enjoy! (If you prefer less alcohol try 1 1/2 shots of each per 2 limes, or cut the recipe in half.)
Happy May 5th ladies!
