It's difficult isn't it? You jump into the new year with new goals, different expectations, and fresh ideas. You have steps set in place to accomplish the "New You" and then BAM! All of the sudden you are reminded of your hectic schedule, the demands of others, and perhaps some petty drama all before week one is over! Or perhaps your week has gone a bit differently; perhaps you are already beginning to shed some weight, started a project you are very excited about, and have reconnected with friends you haven't seen in awhile. Whatever the side of the coin you are on, I would like you to take some time to spend with your spirit this week.
Resolution #1 for the year: To remember my Spirit always comes first. We often forget about our spirit in the journey of optimal health. We establish goals to better our bodies and we break old habits to declutter the mind, but our spirit is truly where it all begins.
Step one to putting your spirit first? Take time this morning and every morning to meditate on what makes you... you. Why are you here? What is your purpose? What are your values? Why are these your values? Simply "be" with these questions, consider them, and contemplate the bigger part of the life you are living.
I will definitely be diving into this beautiful topic of the Spirit this year, but I thought this post would be the perfect beginning to the journey.
Your spirit is where your health begins. It always has and it always will. Take care of your spirit; nurture it, grow it, strengthen it. I promise your journey, no matter where you are at, will be more in focus when you do!
