Over the last five years, I truly developed who I was as an individual. I have always known I love art, writing, and movement; I have cultivated my taste buds to enjoy the healthier side of life; I find exercise followed by a good night’s rest is a perfect way to spend any day; and creating products that make my outside feel as good as my inside is one of my simple joys. One of my favorite past times is thinking; thinking how what I say and do impacts others, thinking about what others have said and did before me impacts the world today, thinking about why we are here in the first place and how our days should be spent. I am weird, I realize, but honest—this girl loves to think! (This love of thinking may have initiated the B.A. in Psychology and the constant desire to continue my formal (the CHLC) and informal education ALWAYS.)
I am also blessed with the gift of knowing what it means to be loved. My family demonstrated that to me since birth and my husband shows it to me every day since, and even before, we said “I Do”. I find the greatest days are those days we spend together regardless of the activity at hand. I have been blessed with a beautiful foundation of love, support, and strength to build from.
I have gone through my own struggles, my own weaknesses, and my own journey. I understand people sin, but it is in what they do afterwards and where they take their journey that makes a person. I know what it means to be disappointed, to feel confused, and to be lost in several directions. Like all good life coaches, I am convinced this is a requirement.
But it is in all of this, the good and the bad; I came to recognize one thing in the last few years. I am drawn to helping people. I look forward to sharing a cup of coffee with a friend, a stranger, simply another human being going through “stuff”; to working through an obstacle, a transition perhaps; and connecting in a very unique way—as two people on separate journeys choosing to discuss where they have been and where they would like to be next. The beauty of being a holistic life coach? You have to look at the whole person! You have to see what makes them tick (their purpose), what they are doing that may be sacrificing their greatest potential (ie their diet, lack of exercise, poor sleep habits, their thinking “ruts” etc.), and how they express themselves best (painting, journaling, dancing, spoken word, poetry, etc.) You take all that, and from the recipe something beautiful is created; a person who is more uniquely YOU (we call this your authentic self p.s.)!
The last five years… I now understand why I have found a love for all of the things I do (I didn’t just wake up and decide what I want to do, no, it has been a lifetime in the making folks)… I am to use what I have learned in becoming a holistic being and use it to help others do the same. I hope you will share in this journey with me, contribute to it, add to it, and share a cup of coffee with me sometime. I would love to hear your story and what make you, “you”!
