"How you choose to spend your time can either reflect your priorities, or they can sacrifice them."
Your Ideal Lifestyle Narrative -Your Schedule-
Your schedule defines to yourself, and to the rest of the world, what is important to you. How we choose to spend our time literally provides everyone with a narrative of the lives we live without us having to say a single word. With this in mind, what narrative do you want your schedule to tell about your lifestyle?
Journal Prompt- What Narrative Do You Want Your Schedule to Tell?
If your schedule is a reflection of who you are and what is important to you, what would you want your schedule to say?
Where would you spend most of your time?
How would the term "work/life balance" show up in your life?
Who would you spend your time with?
What activities would you fill your days with?
What would your schedule communicate to the rest of the world?
If someone was looking at how you spend your time, what would they conclude about you?
Use physical, mental, and emotional descriptors of yourself as someone else would see you.
How would your schedule feel to you?
Use all of your senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, taste, etc.) to describe how you feel in your lifestyle.
Also describe how you feel using mental and physical descriptors of yourself, your lifestyle, and your schedule.
Think of the transitional elements of time- would you flow smoothly from each task? Would it be quick transitions? Multitasking? Unplanned? Describe your schedule.
As you create your schedule for your ideal lifestyle narrative, remember to keep in mind your internal experience of time, as well as, how this feeling would show up for others in the schedule you are defining. Let me know if you have questions!
