Growing up (as well as today), I was immersed in the artistic community. At the age of three, my parents enrolled me in ballet, which grew into an entire portfolio of various extensions of dance. In high school, I went on to attend dance intensives in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest areas for a few weeks at a time, while continuing to foster my creative love for the arts locally. I continued my dance education in college- teaching, choreographing, and attending classes at a community studio. College was also the beginning of my poetry and abstract painting experience. I later took all of the arts with me to Chicago, where I also pursued a post-graduate education in Psychology. (Later on, I would see the opportunity to create my own path creatively and purposefully, and forego completion of my doctorate program.)
A Blend of Psychology.
Throughout my life, I have always pondered lifestyle greatest, yet at times, simplest moments. This innate quality, my Christian faith, and a desire to live purposefully led me into exploring life moments from an artistic vantage point- through process of creative expression.
The Final Product.
Today, I use art (writing, painting, movement) as a way of exploring, navigating, and inspiring life experiences that are unique to us as individuals. In my opinion, life is vividly expressed through colors, textures, tempos, adjectives, movement and line. It is through the creative process that we can begin to view life moments in a tactile way.
The business you see in front of you is the perfect blend of lifestyle, psychology, art, and the personal me. Within the creative branch of BP Lifestyle + Design, I have cultivated a space for the artist (myself) and collector (you), to share in the artistic process of your custom piece. It is my hope you will see something in the collection that speaks to you, or inspires you to have a custom piece created to provide the final touch to your space.
